Wondering how to sell an old car? You can recycle it! Check out our frequently asked questions.
How much does it cost to recycle a vehicle?
It won’t cost you anything, we pay you. Recycle Your Auto will pick any cars, heavy duty trucks, vans, trailers, buses, machinery, forklifts or other equipment and remove them without damaging the environment. Your cash is paid upon pick-up. We pay you and recycle your vehicle too!
How long does it take?
It depends on the situation. We’ve picked up vehicles that have been overgrown in vegetation, abandoned down embankments, even left in remote areas. Sometimes it may take us a little longer but we’ll figure out the best way to get your vehicle out of there!
Most straightforward pick-ups take only about 10 minutes. With some of the more complicated jobs it can take from 30 minutes to closer to an hour. You don’t need to do any work – it’s all up to us, so stand back and watch us haul it away.
I no longer have ownership papers, does that matter?
It doesn’t, we have a vehicle removal authorization form. All you need is a driver’s license or government issued ID.
Does it matter that my car doesn’t have tires? What about keys to open the door? What if the vehicle is flipped over on its roof?
No problem. We have the equipment and experience necessary to get it safely onto a flatbed and without damaging your property.
Where does my unwanted vehicle end up?
We take all unwanted vehicles to an accredited auto recycling facility that we’ve worked with for 10 years. All materials (metal, glass, fluids, etc.) are separated and recycled according to their respective methods. Automobiles are currently the most recycled consumer product in the world, and every car recycled makes a difference.
What does removing my unwanted vehicle really do for the environment?
Your unwanted vehicle can be recycled into several different items such as fuel for fireplaces, kitchen sinks or flooring. By doing this, you are preventing further pollution in the environment while also giving parts of your vehicle a second life to be used in repairs and recycling. The importance of recycling is becoming a more respected and sought after component of our lives. With the number of motor vehicles on the road also growing, every part of the vehicle should be recycled so it can stretch out its value for everyone.
